Featured Case Study - Albion College
Albion College, a private, liberal arts college in Michigan, prepared to unveil its new "Albion Advantage" this spring. A bold move for a liberal arts college, the Albion Advantage pledges to help incoming students explore their career goals and expectations throughout each academic year as they pursue a four-year degree at Albion. Upon graduating, Albion alums who have been unable to fulfill those goals by finding meaningful employment will be aided by the college, which pledges to help graduates find internships at the college or an outside employer, or offer a free semester of non-credit study.
Gehrung Associates' media campaign on behalf of the Albion Advantage began when we arranged a visit to the Chronicle of Higher Education for Albion President Donna Randall. The Chronicle requested first rights to the story, and ran a front-page feature about the college's against-the-grain approach to combining "career readiness" with a liberal arts education.
With a circulation of 70,000 academic subscribers and a readership of 350,000 garnered widespread attention for Albion College, from both inside the industry and among prospective students and their parents. USA Today and other media have also interviewed President Randall for subsequent coverage. |
